2K Hires Apex Legends Lead to Boost Troubled Action Game Project Ethos
The renowned publisher has secured a seasoned producer from the creators of Apex Legends to lead the development team at 31st Union, which is currently developing the anticipated over-the-shoulder roguelike extraction-shooter known as this innovative game.
Management Shift Follows Mixed Feedback
Brinkman steps into the leadership position at 31st Union following the dismissal of former leader Michael Condrey, who was reportedly let go due to the game's disappointing early showing last autumn.
On Wednesday, the company's top executive David Ismailer notified team members about this decision through an internal memo, which emphasized that playtesting had indicated the need for a distinct vision.
Ismailer stated that the team is now overhauling the project with a renewed focus, aiming to address community desires.
A Pattern of Strategic Acquisitions
This announcement echoes a comparable action taken by 2K Games in the summer, when they brought on an industry veteran from the Diablo team to assist with the beloved franchise studio Cloud Chamber.
