Assassin's Creed Introduces Unexpected AoT Crossover for Holiday Season
In a unexpected partnership that challenges traditional forecasts, Ubisoft has unveiled an digital crossover between Assassin's Creed Shadows and the popular anime series Attack on Titan. The unusual Thanksgiving event runs from November 25 through December 22, including complimentary bonus story content for Shadows players.
Mysterious Questline Disclosed
According to the formal statement, "A mysterious encounter leads characters Naoe and Yasuke into a fresh quest, where whispers of forbidden rituals and monstrous metamorphoses resonate through the darkness." The plot presents a "unusually dressed woman named Ada" who charges the duo with venturing into the Crystalline Cavern—a significant location from Attack on Titan—to rescue her friend from a hidden group.
The mission focuses on "bizarre trials and a fearsome enemy" and is available to all players who have unlocked the Yasuke character.
Recognizable Locations and Metamorphoses
The teaser highlights the Subterranean Sanctuary from Attack on Titan redesigned as the Crystal Cave. This important location was formerly where the Reiss royal family transmitted the Founding Titan ability through generations. The trailer ends with a powerful sequence showing a character, probably the hostage, changing into a Titan that towers over Naoe and Yasuke.
Special Prizes and Additional Features
Players who accomplish the quest will obtain an exclusive katana alongside multiple objects hidden throughout the area in hidden chests. The update also contains in-store Attack on Titan item packs, including:
- Titan-based outfit for Yasuke
- Mikasa outfit for Naoe
- Special weapons
- Survey Corps mount
Newest Free Story Content
This release also introduces the game's newest no-cost story content, titled "The Mystery."
