Critical Role Season Four Unveils the Soldiers Group

Since the launch of Campaign 4, new Dungeon Master the talented storyteller has kept viewers on edge with deep backstory, a diverse cast of personalities, and a exciting storyline featuring celestial beings, evil spirits, and sinister influences increasing in power within the urban setting.

Warning: Key plot points for the latest installment of Campaign 4 follow below.

The Warrior Group Unveiled

The latest chapter finished on a huge suspense moment and introduced the initial group of heroes who will branch out from the primary party to undertake their separate journey, distinct from the remaining groups.

The Soldiers table consists of Teor Pridesire (played by the voice actor), the nimble rogue (the talented performer), the strong-willed figure (the cast member), Wicander (Sam Riegel), and Kattigan Vale (Robbie Daymond).

The Reason for Division

With 13 cast members, it was obvious from the outset that having everyone at the same party would be unfeasible.

That’s why, the opening chapters of this story serve as an Prelude, intertwining the individual narratives before branching into three separate parties: Fighters, Schemers, and Seekers.

What Defines the Combat Party

As described by the Dungeon Master, the warrior group is for players who enjoy a classically intense fight-heavy narrative style where peaceful solutions are rare.

Upon first impression, characters like the squeamish cleric the cleric might seem mismatched, but the events of episode 3 demonstrate why these five characters are ideally matched for the Soldiers table.

Motivations for Departure

For one thing, the team has a clear idea where to proceed after a violent first encounter with the antagonists.

Casimir of Thjazi—whose death started the narrative’s action—manipulated the enemy for his selfish purposes, invading Thjazi’s hideout, assaulting Thimble, and swiping all the enchanted items to dispose of.

Casimir then settled his debts and ran away to a fortified location in the remote area, above the urban center, with Cyd Pridesire pursuing him.

Personal Motivations

Secondly, each character has a personal reason to leave the city the urban setting:

  • Thimble, as Thjazi’s partner and closest confidant, wants revenge.
  • The adventurer knows Timmony and advises that it is a nasty place.
  • Tyranny and The cleric, having defied his relatives’ demands to kill the target and instead saved him, have no safe haven.
  • But, their status as important members in the influential clan could enable the group access areas they normally couldn’t.
  • Furthermore, The fighter swore a life debt to The savior for his salvation and will now follow him everywhere.

Wanted and Hunted

Finally, all of them are hunted by the authorities that govern the setting for a range of causes, making lingering locally no longer safe:

  • The agile adventurer and The character are recognized lawbreakers.
  • The warrior and The cleric betrayed House Halovar and the horde of evil beings they are allied with.
  • The fighter is targeted for elimination by the family.

This means them few options but to journey toward the remote area in pursuit of Casimir.

Future Episodes

Based on the latest episode’s Cooldown, we discover that the combat party won’t be around in the upcoming installment, leaving the rest of the cast members to form the Explorers and Planners parties.

Fans can look forward to finding out which characters will be assigned to which table in the story’s concluding setup installment, available to watch on next week.
